Tamang Heritage Trail Trek is a novice and off-the-beaten trail close to the Langtang Valley. It is especially promoted to exhibit the local culture and heritage of Tamang people of Langtang region. Thus, it focuses on community tourism and is famously known as Taming Cultural Trek in Nepal.

Tamang Heritage Trail Trek begins from Saybru Besi. And follows the route through Tatopani, Thuman, Briddim, Langtang Village, Kanjing Gompa to end in Syabru Besi.

Day 1
Day 01: Arrive in Kathmandu

Max Elevation: 1338 m, Kathmandu

Welcome to Kathmandu, the capital city of the Himalayan country Nepal! Today is the first day of your tip in Nepal with Osho Vision. Our company representative will receive you at Tribhuvan International Airport (TIA).

Further, our staff will escort you to the respective hotel. Later after freshening up, you’ll visit our office for a small team meet up. Our guide will brief you about upcoming trip Tamang Heritage Trail Trek.

Later in the evening, we arrange a welcome dinner in one of the typical Nepalese restaurants. You’ll spend overnight at one of the tourist standard hotels in Kathmandu.

Day 2
Day 02: Sightseeing in the Kathmandu Valley

The capital city, Kathmandu is full of exclusive cultural and historical sites. Therefore, today you’ll visit the major attractions of Kathmandu Valley.

The sites include Pashupatinath Temple ( a Hindu shrine dedicated to Lord Shiva), Swyambhunath and Boudhanath (a Buddhist shrine dedicated to Lord Buddha), and Kathmandu Durbar Square.

After sightseeing tour, you’ll return to the hotel and prepare for an upcoming trek. You’ll spend overnight at one of the tourist standard hotels in Kathmandu.

Day 3
Day 03: Drive to Syabru Besi

Travel Duration: 8-9 hours drive

Max Elevation:1,550 m, Syabru Besi

After early morning breakfast, you’ll drive north from Kathmandu to Syabru Besi. You’ll drive through scenic highway along Trishuli river. En route you’ll get an occasional glimpse of Manaslu, Ganesh, and Langtang peaks.

Further proceeding from Dhunche, the district headquarters of Rasuwa district you’ll reach Syabru Besi. You’ll spend a night in the tea house at Syabru Besi.

Day 4
Day 04: Trek to Gatlang

Trek Duration: 5 hours

Max Elevation: 2,238 m, Gatlang

After breakfast in Syabru Besi village, you’ll walk uphill to the best viewpoint for Ganesh Himal, Goasikunda range, and Langtang range.

Admiring the mountain views, you’ll head down to Goljang village. En route, you’ll pass through many small settlements see many Buddhists Chortens and Mani walls.

After walking for 3-4 hours you’ll finally reach a beautiful Tamang village, Gatlang. It is set high on the hillside among terrace fields. You’ll spend a night in a lodge or home at Gatlang village.

Day 5
Day 05: Trek to Tatopani

Trek Duration: 6-7 hours

Max Elevation: 2,607 m, Tatopani

Today the trail first descends from Gatlang to Thambuchet, a small settlement on the bank of Bhote Koshi river. From here, the trail again ascends till you reach the hanging bridge across Chilime River. After crossing the bridge, the uphill climb takes you to Tatopani village.

Tatopani means “hot water” in Nepali where you can enjoy in the natural hot springs. Local believe that taking bath in this hot spring will heal your aches and pain.

You’ll spend overnight in the teahouse of Tatopani village.

Day 6
Day 06: Trek to Thuman via Brimdang and Nagthali

Trek Duration: 6 hours

Max Elevation: 2,400 m, Thuman

Today will be one of the longest trekking days of this entire trip. After breakfast in Tatopani village, you’ll come across Brimdang village.

Then you’ll hike up to Nagthali Danda at the height of 3,165 m. This is the highest point of the area and offers panoramic views of snow-capped Langtang Lirung, Kerung, and Ganesh Himal.

Further, you’ll descend to Thuman village on a paved route. If you’re lucky, then you can spot monkeys with white heads and long tails named as Nepal Gray Langur Monkeys.

Thuman village lies near the Bhote Koshi river and has a high influence of the Tibetan culture. In the evening, you can enjoy the cultural dance and song performed by Tamang people.

The main attraction of today’s trek is the panoramic mountain views, dense forest, open grassland, and Tibetan influence culture and lifestyle.

You’ll spend a night at the teahouse of Thuman village.

Day 7
Day 07: Trek to Briddim

Trek Duration: 6 hours

Max Elevation: 2,345 m, Briddhim

Today you’ll follow the descending trail and cross the bridge over the Bhote Koshi river. Again you’ll descend along the river to Timure, an old trade route to Tibet.

From Timure, Rasuwaghadi (Nepal-Tibet border) is a three-hour walk. From Timure, you’ll walk down and cross the bridge over Phenglung Khola.

Further, after a short walk along the bank of Bhote Koshi river, you’ll reach Lingling village (1,737 m). From there you’ll hike to Briddhim village. In the evening, you can enjoy amazing local foods made in typical Nepalese style.

You’ll spend a night at the house (home-stay) of local Tamang people.

Day 8
Day 08: Trek to Lama Hotel

Trek Duration: 6 hours

Max Elevation: 2,470 m, Lama Hotel

Today you’ll walk past the trail that connects the Tamang Heritage Trail Trek and Langtang Valley Trek. It’ll take around 5 to 6 hours to reach Rimche village (2,445 m) via Khanjim (2,235 m) and Sherpa gaon (2,563 m).

Rimche village offers a spectacular view of the Himalayan panorama. Then, following the Langtang river and walking via the beautiful forest of rhododendron, you’ll reach Lama Hotel for an overnight stay.

Day 9
Day 09: Trek to Langtang Village

Trek Duration: 6-7 hours

Max Elevation: 3,430 m, Langtang Village

After breakfast, a pleasant walk via rhododendron and pine forests will take you to Ghoda Tabela (Horse Stable). After this, the trail passes via grazing yak pastures until you reach Langtang Village.

Upon arrival, you can explore Langtang Village. In this village, you can witness a unique Tamang culture and lifestyle. Overnight stay at Langtang Village.

Day 10
Day 10: Trek to Kyanjin Gompa

Trek Duration: 4 hours

Max Elevation: 3,870 m, Kyanjin Gompa

Today leaving behind the wonderful Langtang village, you’ll head towards Kyanjin Gompa. The trail passes via the largest mani wall and the trail takes you to the small village of “Mundu.”

Further, after crossing small streams, you’ll finally see the monastery of Kyanjin Gompa. And the dramatic ice-falls on the peaks of Langtang Lirung and Kimshung. Overnight stay at Kyanjin Gompa.

Day 11
Day 11: Trek back to Lama Hotel

Trek Duration: 6 hours

Max Elevation: 2,470 m, Lama Hotel

Today you’ll retrace the same trail back to reach Lama Hotel. En route you’ll pass via several traditional villages including Langtang, Thyangsyap, Ghode Tabela, and Gumnachowk. Again you’ll get the glimpse of culture and lifestyle of the Tamang people on walking through these villages.

The trail follows the Langtang river through the forests. Finally, you’ll reach Lama Hotel for an overnight stay.

Day 12
Day 12: Trek to Syabru Besi

Trek Duration: 4-5 hours

Max Elevation: 2,380 m, Syabru Besi

Today after breakfast at Lama Hotel you’ll hike to Syabru Besi. You’ll descend along the bank of the Langtang river. At first, the trail leads toward Sherpa gaon and then head towards Bamboo village.

On following the south bank of the river, you’ll cross a suspension bridge and traverse via landslide area. And enjoy in a hot spring, after passing through many hotels. The journey finally ends at Syabru Besi.

You’ll spend a night at the teahouse in Syabru Besi.

Day 13
Day 13: Drive to Kathmandu and Farewell Dinner in the Evening

Trek Duration: 8-9 hours

Max Elevation: 1,338 m

Today early in the morning you’ll drive back to Kathmandu. It is about eight to nine hours drive to Kathmandu. Upon arrival in Kathmandu, we’ll transfer you to respective hotel.

There you can spend either relaxing at the hotel or you can go for some sightseeing tour at nearby places.

In the evening, you will join our team for the farewell dinner and pre-departure program. You’ll spend a night at a tourist standard hotel in Kathmandu.

Day 14
Day 14: Transfer to the International Airport for Final Flight Departure

Sadly, it’s time to say goodbye to Nepal. Enjoy your last moments in Kathmandu with breakfast in a cafe. Our representative will drop you to the airport for your final departure time.
